SWK Technologies is currently looking for a Sage X3 developer who will be responsible for developing our MAPADOC EDI integration to Sage X3.
The primary focus of this position will be the development of MAPADOC EDI within the Sage X3 application including interface, database schema management; and import/export logic via standard import, batch server imports, and web channel imports. You will also be responsible for developing logic that formats and translates EDI data for exchange with Sage X3 and trading partner networks via established Java components.
Responsibilities
- Produce functional and technical design specifications for new features, product enhancements, and customer-requested customizations, along with estimates to deliver this work.
- Develop new features and enhancements for the existing MAPADOC X3 product within Sage X3 (4GL) and Java.
- Develop database schema needed to support EDI data storage in Sage X3, and develop logic that writes data to and extracts data from this schema.
- Develop client logic needed to receive data from EDI translators, store that data, and then format and translate that data for consumption by Sage X3 — and conversely format and translate data sent from Sage X3 back to trading partner networks.
- Develop patch installers for MAPADOC products installed in Sage X3 environments.
- Set up Sage X3 clean environments for testing new MAPADOC X3 features and customizations, as well as full product testing against new Sage releases and patches.
- Deploy MAPADOC on Sage X3 client sites, apply new product patching, and Q/A deployments to ensure proper function.
- Provide level 2 support to the consulting team for onboarding new customers or troubleshooting Sage X3/MAPADOC clients.
Skills and Qualifications
- Must have proficient knowledge of the Sage SAFE X3 development tool/4GL and Java; knowledge of .NET environments such as C# a plus.
- Must have proficient knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, SQL, and writing stored procedures, views, and triggers.
- Ability to produce automated testing scripts and unit tests.
- University degree in computer science and 2-5 years of hands-on experience with Sage X3 preferred; understanding of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) a plus.
- Positive, self-directed, and self-motivated attitude, with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
